The National Association of Housing for Visually Impaired (NAHVI) was formed to address the long term needs of young people with a visual impairment who may also have an additional disability e.g. learning, hearing or physical and have complex needs as a result of social, cultural, economic or emotional factors.
Our Houses:-
are located in areas with good amenities such as shops and leisure facilities
are in proximity and have ease of access to public transport, enabling people we support to get to and from destinations of their choice
are accessible; the physical environment and décor of each house will take into account the needs of those living there, for example choice of equipment, furnishings and the use of lighting and tactile materials
have the staffing and resources to enable residents to live as full a life as possible, ensuring that each person has the level of support they require in order to achieve their full potential
Individual needs are met and sourced within the community. Access as appropriate to local services and health care and other specialist services as required.
NAHVI – Providing accommodation and/or support to people with an intellectual disability and visual impairment, enabling each individual to achieve their dreams, aspirations and ambitions.
